Road Safety (2004) |
Client: Road
Safety, in Thousand Oaks, California, provides its customers
with the most advanced, state-of-the-art systems and
software that ensure the safe and efficient operation of
their vehicles. These include driver simulation training and “black
boxes” installed in automobiles in commercial fleets, emergency
response vehicles, and in a newly released teen driver model.
Challenge: After the success of the 2003 venture, Road Safety felt a need to further advertise their Simulation Center and Black Box technology.
Solution: M:4 created a six-in-one product combining DVD- and CD-ROM technologies. Two DVD-ROM projects focused on introducing Road Safety's black box technology and driver education simulation to parents. Two accompanying DVD-ROM products focused on introducing the same material to teens. Both presented similar material, but with naturally different perspectives and focus. Then, for use as pre-simulation education within the actual Road Safety Simulation Center , a CD-ROM product was created to introduce young drivers to safety issues, and their upcoming simulation experience. A final interactive CD-ROM product-provided for learners as "take away" instruction after simulation training-served to review safety issues, and referred youth and parents, alike, to web-based articles and supporting links.
To further assist the production of actual in-simulator graphics, M:4 provided Road Safety with recorded sound-bite directives that were embedded in the new-driver training.
